Module 6: Interactions with Children / Youth

Interactions that Build Secure Relationships

Good caregiving means building connections with children.  But what establishes a connection for one person may not for another; it is culturally dependent.  One thing that can help connect people across cultures is good listening.  Listening is a tool that people of all ages, races, abilities and languages can use to help establish good communication and trust with one another.  Therefore, it is essential that caregivers listen and be attentive to children in order to help establish good connections.
